The Hawks completed a perfect run last week with 3 solid wins, including an impressive road win at previously undefeated Heritage.  On Thursday, the Hawks took early control of the WAC standings they finished off the sweep of the Pacheco Panthers.  In the 8-2 win, CV was led by Noah Maldonado: 3-4, Ezequiel Verduzco: 1-4, 2 RBIs, 3B, and Isaac Lopez: 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 4 Ks.  On Friday, the Hawks made the long trip to Brentwood to take on the Heritage Patriots and CV came home with the dramatic 2-0 win!  The Hawks were led by Tyson Hunt: 7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, K CG Shutout and Fernando Dominguez: 1-3, 2B, 2 RBIs.  CV is now 6-4 overall, 2-0 WAC as they look to keep things going this week in a 2-game series vs. the Beyer Patriots.

Softball (Thursday)

Varsity: Atwater 4, Central Valley 3 (10 innings)

The Hawks dropped a heart-breaker on Thursday in extra innings by the score of 4-3 at Atwater.  The good news is that CV played much better and is starting to turn the corner as league approaches.  The Hawks were led by Madelyn Morales 2-4, 2 RBI, run and Reylena Herrera 2-4, 2 runs.  CV will begin league play today when they travel to Beyer to take on the Patriots.

Stunt Cheer (Thursday)

Central Valley 26, Lathrop 17

The Lady Hawks faced their 2nd straight challenging WAC opponent and CV came out victorious once again.  The Hawks defeated the Lathrop Spartans by the score of 26-17 to move to 2-0 in league play.  East Union is also out to an undefeated start so it appears that in order to repeat as league champions, the Hawks and Lancers games this season will prove to be the difference.  They do not match up until April so there is plenty of work to do until then.  The Hawks next opponent will be this Thursday vs. Livingston at Mountain House at 5:00pm.

Boys Tennis

The Hawks (5-0) continued their unbeaten start to WAC play with another convincing win.  CV defeated the Johansen Vikings with wins from: Avori Ortega, Silas Rodriguez, Roman Parodi, Osvaldo Cisneros, Alex Aguilar, Jaylan Tagadaya, Abram Munguia/Gurtaj Saran,

Simardeep Malhi/Sahib Patter, and Andrew Arevalo/Christian Gudino.  The 1st place Hawks will face the Vikings again today in a WAC matchup.

After picking up 2 wins earlier in the week, the Hawks dropped a WAC contest on Friday to a tough Lathrop team.  CV will be back in action a couple of times this week as they travel to Ceres High on Wednesday and to Grace Davis on Friday.
