Boys Golf

In the WAC opening tournament of the league season, the Hawks announced their presence with authority as they took 1st place overall!  CV edged out 2nd place Beyer by just 1 stroke in what is shaping up to be a very competitive golf season.  The top Hawk for the day was Diego Mendoza (3rd overall), followed by Maximiliano Mendoza (5th overall).  The entire remaining CV lineup of Aldolfo Diaz, William Montez, Cristian Bossard, and Ayden Whitworth all contributed to this exciting early season victory.  The Hawks will be back in action next Thursday when they travel to Creekside Golf Course in Modesto for the WAC #2 tourney of the season. 

 

Baseball (from Tuesday)

Varsity: Central Valley 8, Pacheco 1

JV: Central Valley 10, Pacheco 0

The Hawks drew first blood in a crucial early season WAC matchup as they took down the Pacheco Panthers by the score of 8-1.  It was an 1st inning explosion of 6 runs for CV that quickly put this game in favor of the Hawks.  Sophomore, Noah Maldonado was the star of the day both on the mound and in the batter’s box with 6 IP, 10 Ks, 0 ER on the mound and 2-3, 2B, 3 RBIs, and a run scored offensivelyMason Whitworth also continued to swing a hot bat as he went 2-4 with a run scored.  The Hawks (4-4 overall, 1-0 WAC) will look to sweep the series today as they travel to Pacheco.

 

Boys Tennis

Central Valley 8, Livingston 1

The CV Boys Tennis team continued their torrid start to the season with another huge win.  The Hawks defeated the Livingston Wolves by the score of 8-1 to push CV’s league record to 4-0.  CV wins came from Avori Ortega, Silas Rodriguez, Roman Parodi, Jaylan Tagadaya, Blake Silva, Joshua Rubio/Abram Munguia, and Gurtaj Saran/Simardeep Malhi.  The Hawks will be back in action on Monday when they host the Johansen Vikings. 

 

Boys Volleyball

Varsity: Central Valley defeats Johansen 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-19)

JV: Central Valley defeats Johansen 2-0 (25-15, 25-17)

The Hawks took the momentum from Monday night’s win over Modesto High and parlayed it into another solid win.  CV kicked off WAC play with a sweep over the Johansen Vikings.  The JV Hawks started the night with a 2-0 win, followed by a Varsity 3-0 shutout.  The Hawks will look to keep the good times rolling this Friday when they host the Lathrop Spartans.

 

Softball (from Tuesday)

Varsity: Merced 6, Central Valley 0

The Hawks (1-4) traveled to the Merced Bears on Tuesday and dropped a non-league contest by the score of 6-0.  CV continues to work toward preparing for WAC play as they wrap up their pre-season with a game at Atwater today.
