Baseball (from Friday)

Varsity: Central Valley 14, Gregori 0

JV: Central Valley 5, Gregori 5 (tie- darkness)

The Hawks (3-4) took care of business on Friday in a big way with a dominant 14-0 win over the Gregori Jaguars.  The Hawks have held their own against one of the top ranked strength of schedules in the area and capped off the pre-season with an emphatic win.  On Friday, CV was led by Mason Whitworth: 3-3, 2 R, 2 RBIs, BB, Carter Hernandez: 3-3, 2 R, 3 RBIs, BB and Dominic Delatorre: 4 IP, 0 R, 5 Ks.  CV will host the Pacheco Panthers on Tuesday in the WAC opener.  On paper, it appears that the Panthers and Hawks will be a two of the top teams in the WAC this season, so this early season matchup will have a huge impact on the road to the league title. 

 

Swimming

The CV Swim team kicked off their 25-26 WAC season this past Friday at Grace Davis.  Coach Rocha provided a great update below from the meet:

Our small but mighty team showed up on Friday and had an awesome start to our season against Davis High. Special shoutouts to the following Swimmers:

Joellene Roton (Backstroke), Zhaira Brar (Breaststroke), Kamyla Loza (Butterfly), Natalie Southavongsa (Freestyle): 1st place Girls 200yd Medley Relay

Joellene Roton: 1st place in the Girls 200yd Freestyle and the Girls 100yd Backstroke

Zhaira Brar: 1st place in the Girls 500yd freestyle and the Girls 100yd Breaststroke

Julian Bustillos : 1st place in the Boys 100yd Backstroke

Ari Luman1st place in the 100yd Breaststroke

The Hawks will be back in action this coming Friday when they host the Pacheco Panthers at 4:00pm.

 

Boys Tennis

Central Valley 6, Beyer 3

The Hawks continued their hot start to the WAC season with their 3rd consecutive league victory.  CV wins came from Wins from Osvaldo Cisneros, Alex Aguilar, Jaylan Tagadaya, Blake Silva/Gurtaj Saran, Joshua Rubio/Abram Munguia, and Simar Malhi/Sahib Pattar.  The Hawks (4-0, 3-0 WAC) are currently in 1st place and will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Livingston to take on the Wolves. 

 

Stunt Cheer (from Thursday)

Central Valley 27, Mountain House 17

The CV Stunt team looks to defend their league title from last season and things got off to a great start.  Last Thursday night, the Hawks came away with a hard-fought 27-17 win against a Mountain House team that appears to be one of the toughest league opponents.  Monday night’s games were postponed due to a lack of officials, so CV will look to get back in the win column this Thursday night when they travel to Ceres High.  CV will play on Thursday night vs. Lathrop at 5:00pm at Ceres High. 

 

Softball

Varsity: Central Valley 13, Riverbank 3

JV: Central Valley defeats Riverbank

The Hawks (1-3) put one in the win column yesterday with a dominating 13-3 mercy rule win over the Riverbank Bruins.  CV was led by Selah Chesney (2-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 runs), Reylena Herrera (2-4, RBI, run), and Brooklynn Steeley (2-3, 2 RBI, 2B).  The Hawks continue their busy week with a game at Merced High today and another at Atwater on Thursday. 

 

Boys Volleyball

Varsity: Central Valley defeats Modesto 3-1

JV: Central Valley defeats Modesto 2-0

Frosh: Modesto defeats Central Valley 2-1

The Varsity Hawks defended their home court last night with an energetic 3-1 win over the Modesto Panthers.  The Hawks brought their energy to the floor as they dominated the action early and ultimately took home the win.  CV will have a busy week as they travel to Stagg in Stockton today, followed by home games on Wednesday vs. Johansen and Friday vs. Lathrop.
