The CV Boys Tennis team has kicked off the 25-26 WAC season in style with a couple of dominant wins. The Hawks shutout the Grace Davis Spartans on Monday and followed it up with another shutout last night at Pacheco in Los Banos. CV wins came from Avori Ortega, Silas Rodriguez, Roman Parodi, Osvaldo Cisneros, Alexander Aguilar, Blake Silva, Joshua Rubio/Abram Munguia, Gurtaj Saran/Andres Botero, and Sahib Pattar/Simardeep Malhi. The Hawks will look to keep their early season success going next Monday when they host the Beyer Patriots.
Baseball
Pitman 4, Central Valley 3
Pleasant Grove 8, Central Valley 2
The Hawks dropped a couple of tough ones earlier this week to drop to 2-4 in the early pre-season. CV has put together a challenging pre-season schedule and continues to battle with some of the Section’s best. The Hawks will look to get back in the win column this Friday when they host the Gregori Jaguars. WAC play begins next week, so this will be one last tune-up for the Hawks as they look to defend their WAC title from last season.
Softball

The Varsity Hawks traveled to Hilmar last night and fell to the Yellowjackets. In the early season, the Hawks have shown flashes of brilliance, but are still looking to get over the hump into the win column. The JV Hawks cruised to a 17-7 win last night with an impressive offensive explosion. CV will be back in action next week with games against Riverbank (MON), Merced (TUES), and Atwater (THURS).
Boy Volleyball
Varsity: Enochs 3, Central Valley 0
JV: Enochs 2, Central Valley 0
Frosh-Soph: Enochs 2, Central Valley 0
The CV Boys Volleyball team dropped their matches to the Enochs Eagles on Tuesday night in straight sets. The Varsity Hawks did make a run in the 3rd set, but ultimately fell by the score of 26-24. The Hawks continue to work hard and grind through the pre-season and there are signs of improvement and growth. CV will look to get into the win column tonight when they host the Atwater Falcons. All 3 levels are in action with the Frosh-Soph at 4:30pm, JV 5:30pm, Varsity 6:30pm.
