The Lady Hawks put on in the win column last night with a thrilling 3-point win on the road against the Denair Coyotes. Congrats to our varsity girls on their win last night. CV will look to make it 2 in a row tonight when they host the Los Banos Tigers at 4:00pm/5:30pm/7:00pm.
Boy Basketball
Varsity: Hughson 50, Central Valley 49
The Hawks made the short trip to Hughson High last night and lost a heart-breaker to the Huskies by the score of 50-49. The leading scorer for the Hawks was Xavier Manor with 12 points. CV’s pre-season record evens out at 5-5 going into their next matchup this Thursday night at Turlock High against the Bulldogs.

Varsity (Mon): Turlock 4, Central Valley 1
Varsity (Tues): Central Valley 4, Grace Davis 0
On Monday night, the Lady Hawks varsity soccer team dropped a non-league contest to a talented Turlock team by the score of 4-1. CV bounced back in their WAC opener last night with a 4-0 over the Grace Davis Spartans at Mary Grogan Park in Modesto. The Hawks are now 3-3-2 overall, 1-0 in WAC play. CV has one last contest before the winter break as they will host the Pacheco Panthers on Thursday at River Bluff in Ceres in a WAC matchup.
Boys Soccer
Varsity (Mon): Central Valley 3, Atwater 3
Varsity (Tues): Central Valley 2, Grace Davis 0
The Hawks began a very busy week with a tie against Atwater and a win against Grace Davis. On Monday night, the Hawks had an early 2-0 lead, but the Falcons battled back and the teams ended up in a 3-3 tie. CV was able to get one in the win column on Tuesday as their defense dominated the league opener against the Grace Davis Spartans for the 2-0 win. The Hawks are now 1-3-3 overall and 1-0 in WAC. CV will continue their busy week with a trip tonight to Merced to take on the Golden Valley Cougars followed by a WAC matchup on Thursday at Pacheco in Los Banos.
Girls Wrestling
Central Valley 42, Mariposa
Atwater 57, Central Valley 23
El Capitan 56, Central Valley 23
The Hawks traveled to Livingston last night and took part in a multi-team dual in which CV faced Mariposa, Atwater and El Capitan. The Lady Hawks went 1-2 on the night with a win over Mariposa and losses to both Atwater and El Capitan. CV will be back in action this weekend when the travel to Roseville for a tournament.
