The Hawks (14-13, 7-4 CCC) stepped up big time at their Senior Day and final regular season game of the season. CV dominated throughout the game and this convincing win has clinched a playoff spot for the Hawks! Congratulations to Coach Bussard and the Varsity Hawks on qualifying for the DI SJS Playoffs. As for yesterday’s win, the Hawks were led on the mound by Nick Dominguez (4.1 inn, 0 ER, 2 hits, 3 K’s), Chris Garcia (1 inn, 2 K’s) and Caden Mendonca (0.2 inn). The Hawks had several contributors on the offense side, but the multi-hit performers were Caiden Whittle (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI), Mason Whitworth (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI), and Eddie Stewart (2-3, 2B, 3 runs). The Hawks will finish out the regular season this Thursday in their final CCC contest at Buhach Colony as they look to end on a high note. The playoffs will begin on Tuesday, May 7th and the brackets will be posted this Saturday afternoon. I will update with the details once they are official. We do know that we will be placed in the DI bracket with an away game at 4:00pm on May 7th. We are just waiting to see who our opponent will be. Congrats again to our baseball program on this impressive accomplishment.

Varsity: Central Valley 16, El Capitan 8
JV: Central Valley 21, El Capitan 9
The Hawks softball team had their bats ready to go last Friday as they unloaded 16 runs on the El Capitan Gauchos en route to a big 16-8 win! There were several multi-hit performances by the Hawks: Jannet Valencia (2-2, 2 RBI), Valerie Espinoza (3-4, RBI), Gabriela Delatorre (3-5, Grand Slam HR, 4 RBI, 2B), Brooklynn Steeley (3-4, 3 2B’s, 4 RBI), Priscilla Hamidat (2-4, 2 runs), and Payton McConnell (2-2, RBI). CV will look to get back into the playoff picture today as they need to sweep a double header at Buhach Colony to give themselves a chance to re-enter the playoff discussion. The Hawks are currently 8-13 overall and 3-5 in CCC play with 4 league games remaining.
